Day 9 Messina, italy Welcome to Messina, the door of Sicily. Despite being the site of historical disaster, suffering from plague, cholera, and earthquakes in times past, today Messina is a thriving port town with plenty to explore. During your visit, be sure to check out Piazza del Duomo, sample Sicilian cuisine and wander along the colourful seafront.
Day 10 Valetta, Malta Welcome to Valletta, the fortress city. This tiny city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famed for its dusty Baroque buildings and mesmerising sea views. Shop for crafts and jewellery on Republic Street, explore the Upper and Lower Barrakka Gardens and uncover history at Parliament House and the ruins of the Royal Opera House.

Famous for its distinctive terracotta rooftops, gleaming limestone streets and medieval architecture, no trip to Croatia is complete without a visit to Dubrovnik. Walk along the city walls, take a cable car to Mount Srd for impeccable views or kayak to the turquoise waters of Lokrum Island.
Day 13 Split, Croatia Welcome to Split! This atmospheric city is stunningly located between coastal mountains and the glistening turquoise waters of the Adriatic. Discover UNESCO site Diocletian’s Palace, amble down the postcard-perfect Riva Promenade and explore the cobblestoned maze of Old Town. Once you’re done exploring, get into the spirit of Fjaka, the Dalmatian art of doing nothing, as you relax at one of the dozens of bars, cafes and restaurants lining the city’s walls.
Day 14 Zadar, Croatia Zadar, a city on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast, is known for the Roman and Venetian ruins of its peninsular Old Town. There are several Venetian gates in the city walls. Surrounding the Roman-era Forum is 11th-century St. Mary’s Convent, with religious art dating to the 8th century. There’s also the grand, 12th-century St. Anastasia’s Cathedral and the round, 9th-century pre-Romanesque Church of St. Donatus. Day 15 Rijeka, Croatia Welcome to Rijeka! Here, you can immerse yourself in Croatian daily life by chatting with locals over a traditional meal or shopping at the lively central market.
