Important update for Pacific Explorer cruises departing on or after 2nd March 2025
As part of a broader announcement concerning P&O Cruises Australia by Carnival Corporation, it has been announced that P&O will be farewelling Pacific Explorer from the fleet in late February 2025.
As a result, sadly this does mean that Pacific Explorer cruises departing on or after 2nd March 2025 will no longer be going ahead. Please accept our sincere apologies and be assured we understand your disappointment.

- WHICH PACIFIC EXPLORER CRUISES HAVE BEEN CANCELLED?
- Pacific Explorer cruises departing on or after 2 March 2025 have been cancelled. This includes the following cruises by homeport:
- Fremantle:
- 2-Mar-25 to 28-Mar-25 (X510 to X514)
- 7-Mar-26 to 25-Apr-26 (X618 to X628)
- Adelaide
- 29-Mar-25 to 10-Apr-25 (X515 to X517)
- 23-Nov-25 to 18-Dec-25 (X554 to X560)
Pacific Explorer’s final cruises
P&O aims to offer guests ample opportunities to experience the sentimental farewell cruises aboard Pacific Explorer. The final voyage, X508, will set sail from Fremantle on February 7, 2025, embarking on an 11-night journey to Singapore, with stops at Lombok, Indonesia, and Langkawi, Malaysia.
Before reaching Singapore, Pacific Explorer will embark on its last Southern Discovery voyage, a seven-night cruise from Melbourne to Fremantle, starting on 27 January 2025. Following this, a four-night Exmouth cruise from Fremantle and back is scheduled to depart 3rd February 2025. Additionally, a final season departing from Melbourne is slated from December 2024 to February 2025.

What options do guests have?
For any option bookings that had not yet been deposited, these will be automatically cancelled. There is no need for you to do anything with these bookings.

Receive a Future Cruise Credit with bonus Onboard Spending Money^
We’d love to be able to welcome you onboard on an alternative P&O cruise, so we’re giving you the option to convert the money paid towards the cruise fare on their current Pacific Explorer booking into a Future Cruise Credit, and we’ll also give you bonus Onboard Spending Money on their future booking.
The bonus Onboard Spending Money amount will vary by the length of the current cancelled cruise- AU$150 per room for cruises five-nights or less; or AU$300 per room for cruises six-nights or more. Please note that the Onboard Spending Money amount is the total for the room and will be split across the first two guests on the current booking.
The Future Cruise Credits will be set up for each guest for the amount paid per person for the cruise fare component of their Pacific Explorer booking, as shown on the booking confirmation. It will not include any purchased add-on items or packages, such as shore tours. These will be refunded separately back to the method of payment used.

WHEN WILL PACIFIC EXPLORER LEAVE THE FLEET?
Pacific Explorer will leave the P&O Cruises' fleet towards the end of February 2025, with the last cruise being X508 - 11-night cruise to Singapore, departing Fremantle on 7 February 2025.
THE CREDIT CARD I USED TO ΜΑΚΕ ΡΑYMENT ON MY CRUISE HAS SINCE EXPIRED OR BEEN CANCELLED. HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY REFUND?
Refunds can only be returned to the card that was used to make payment. If the credit/debit card you originally used has since expired or been reported lost or stolen, the funds will still go back to the account for the card. Please check with your financial institution. If your card account has been closed within the last 12 months, your financial institution will usually automatically issue you with a cheque (or make contact with you) once the funds reach your account. If your account has been closed for more than 12 months, the refund should bounce back to us as a chargeback. Once this occurs, we will then contact you by email to issue the refund via a bank transfer through HSBC.
WHAT IS THE BONUS ONBOARD SPENDING MONEY AND WHAT CAN IT BE USED FOR?Onboard Spending Money (or onboard credit) is just as it sounds – onboard credit for you to spend onboard the ship during your cruise. - I USED A FUTURE CRUISE CREDIT TO MAKE THE BOOKING ON THE PACIFIC EXPLORER CRUISE THAT HAS NOW BEEN CANCELLED. WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THIS FUTURE CRUISE CREDIT?
- If you used a Future Cruise Credit on your booking and opt for the offer with the bonus Onboard Spending Money, the amount used will be returned back to the original Future Cruise Credit to be used again on another future booking. If your Future Cruise Credit is due to expire prior to 15th February 2025, the expiry date will be extended. The bonus Onboard Spending Money part of the offer will be set up separately for the first two guests on the booking. If any other money was paid towards the cruise fare on the booking via a different payment method, this amount will be set up as an additional Future Cruise Credit for each guest on the booking that the money was applied for.
- If you instead opt for a refund, any used Future Cruise Credit will still be returned back to the original Future Cruise Credit to be used on another future booking, and any other money paid towards your cruise fare will be refunded back to the method of payment.
- I'VE BEEN OFFERED A FUTURE CRUISE CREDIT, WHAT IS IT AND WHEN DOES IT NEED TO BE USED BY?
- A Future Cruise Credit is like a store voucher or gift card that can be used to pay for the cruise fare on a new or existing booking with us where the full fare has not yet be paid.
- Any Future Cruise Credits issued due to the cancellation of these Pacific Explorer cruises will need to be used on a future booking by 15 February 2025. The future cruise must depart on or before 30 June 2026.
- If you instead opt for a refund, any used Future Cruise Credit will still be returned back to the original Future Cruise Credit to be used on another future booking, and any other money paid towards your cruise fare will be refunded back to the method of payment.
